Right Before you Tilt
February 24th, 2024 by Aubree

Ah, the steam. If a poker gambler claims never to have stared faced down the shadow of an approaching poker steam – they’re either lying or they haven’t been competing very long. This doesn’t mean of course that every player has been on steam in the past, a few people have awesome control and carry their losses as a loss and keep it at that. To be a brilliant poker player, it’s extremely critical to treat your wins and your losses in an identical way – with no emotion. You participate in the match in the same manner you did following a tough beat like you would after winning a great hand. Many of the poker masters are not enticed by tilting after a horrible defeat as they are highly professional and you must be to.

You need to be certain that you won’t win each and every hand you’re in, even if you are the front runner. Hands which normally cause players to go on tilt are hands that you were the favorite or at a minimum thought you were up until you were hit and you lost a big chunk of your stack. Awful beats are bound to develop. Face that reality right now, I will say it once more – if your brother enjoys cards, if your father plays cards, if your grandma enjoys cards – We all have poor losses at some point. It is an unavoidable experience of playing Texas Holdem, or in reality any kind of poker.

Seeing as we are assumingly (most of us) playing poker for one purpose – to win cash, it certainly makes sense that we would gamble accordingly to maximize profits. Now let’s say you are up one hundred dollars off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you take a large hit in a No Limits game and your bankroll is down to one hundred and twenty dollars. You have lost eighty dollars in a round where you were sure to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and had a ten to one advantage. And that fiend! He sucked you out on the river? – Well hold it right there. This is a classic opportunity for a fresh gambler to begin tilting. They just lost too much cash on one round that they really should have won and they’re pissed
