Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most complex but popular poker games. It is a variation that, even more than normal Omaha poker, invites play from every level of players. This is the main reason why a once invisible variation, has increased in popularity so quickly.
Omaha hi low starts exactly like a regular game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to every player. A round of betting follows where players can bet, check, or drop out. Three cards are dealt out, this is called the flop. One more round of betting ensues. Once all the players have in turn called or folded, an additional card is revealed on the turn. a further round of wagering happens at which point the river card is flipped. The lower hand takes half of the pot, as does the higher hand. When there’s no lower hand presented, the higher hand wins the complete pot.
