No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
July 28th, 2019 by Aubree

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn everything he could about poker. Phil would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the detrimental comments from others destroy his goal of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and a continuing passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his achievements. He knows he makes errors every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a regular basis.
