Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about the game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an eternal passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders every single game of poker and always strives to get better.
Even though Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a normal basis.
