April 9th, 2019 by Aubree

Online poker has become world celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the dealer declares "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the casino and of course every one of the different players attain 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you have to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes directly to the dealer. After the bet comes the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including an amount in accordance with the original wager. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The house pony’s up chips equal to your wager and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
