Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the western in an excellent game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the dealer, unlike nearly all other poker games that gamblers play with other players. By betting against the dealer, beginning players don’t have to worry about other, more advanced individuals taking their money.
Another Pai Gow edge is the relatively leisurely game play, newcomers are able to take their time and scheme without needing to make quick decisions.
It’s also much simpler to enjoy for a long time with only a small bit of cash after all, to not win, each of your hands needs to be lower than both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is dealt 7 cards face up and the dealer receives 7 cards face down.
One five card hand and a 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be larger than the casino’s.
